Meet the EIGHTYNINES
With two decades of some of the greatest tunes ever written, along with Rubik's cubes, BMX's, classic films, retro trainers and a whole lot more, the EightyNines came together as professional musicians for their love of all things 80's and 90's.
A little bit about us
Lee Rogers & Oz McGowan have been performing an incredible 20 years together as professional musicians in their hugely successful duo The Jeeps, which has seen them play in excess of 2500 gigs, from weddings to functions, and events to corporate hospitality, to many thousands of people.
They worked for the Living Room chain of bars and restaurants for 13 years as their in-house musicians, playing their establishments throughout the UK, and have performed at Weston Park, London's Marquee Club, Marco Pierre White's and on HMS Warrior, amongst many others. They are one of the chosen resident acts at Jools Hollands live music venue The Jamhouse in Birmingham, a position they have held for over 10 years, where they play once a month.
They still continue to gig as the Jeeps regularly, where their dynamic performances, musical versatility, on stage chemistry and unique take on songs have made them one of the most popular and highly regarded duo's on the circuit.
Elliot Drew joined Lee & Oz from Birmingham's thriving jazz scene, where he has performed in many musical outfits, from numerous function bands to intimate jazz trios and quartets. A multi instrumentalist on sax, clarinet & piano, he is a former student of the prestigious Birmingham Conservatoire, where he studied for 4 years to gain a Bachelor of Music, specialising in Jazz. We think you'll agree this is quite possibly the coolest degree anyone could have.
